    Janet Elaine Holbrook, age 62 of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. She was born in Paintsville and worked at the Department of Agriculture for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and daughter of the late Leon Eugene Holbrook.

    Lois Jean (Steele) Thomas, age 74 of Pleasureville, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She had worked in accounting for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Carl Adams Chapter #490 and was a life-long member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Viola Coomer Steele.

    Joann Blevins, 58

    Joann Johnson Blevins, age 58 of Eminence, died Friday, June 8, 2012. She was a member of Point Pleasant Christian Church. She was the daughter of the late Joe Johnson.

    She is survived by her husband, Randy Blevins, Spruce Pine, Alabama; her sons: Jamie Blevins (Tina), Eminence and Timmy Blevins (Angie), Franklinton; her mother, Seattle Goens, Austin, Indiana; her brother, Danny Johnson (Rhonda), Taylorsville; two grandchildren: Jordan Fairchild and Justin Blevins; and one nephew, Jody Johnson.

    Bob Barefoot, 67
    Bob D. Barefoot, age 67 of Eminence, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and son of the late Mary Ellen (Dotts) Barefoot.
    He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Barefoot, Eminence; his son, Benjamin Barefoot, Eminence; father, Robert Earl Barefoot, Calif.
    Cremation was chosen. There will be no visitation. Prewitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Lela Carder, 73
    Lela  “Diane” Pearl Allen Carder, age 73 of Campbellsburg, died Friday, June 8, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Bertha Davidson Allen.
    She is survived by her seven children: Joseph Wayne Aubrey, Honolulu, Hawaii; Diane Lynn Aubrey Moore, Campbellsburg; William David Aubrey, Texas; Henry Clay Alan Jr., and Connie F. Caldwell, both of Bennington, Ind.; Gary Carl William, Osgood, Ind.; and Shelia Gayle Carder, Calif.; two stepchildren: Steven and Lisa Carder.


    Carl Graves, 79

    Carl D. Graves, age 70 of New Castle, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at The Richwood in La Grange. Carl was a native of Vevay, Ind., and was a construction worker.  He was the son of the late Frances & Rosie (Earls) Graves. Carl was cremated.

    He is survived by one daughter, Alice Hawkins of New Castle; one sister, Normalene Adkins of Vevay, Ind.; three grandchildren, Christopher Ashby, Chastity and Nicholas Hawkins.

    Barbara Kriesel, 81
    Barbara Nell Kriesel, age 81, of Sedalia, Mo., died Friday, May 25, 2012, at her residence. She was a native of Henry County and the daughter of the late Leon Neville and Edna Virginia Sparrow.
    She is survived by her husband, Oscar Kriesel; and two daughters, Lori Leigh Heiple, Somerset, Pa., and Linda Nell Riley, Cole Camp, Mo.
    Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the First Christian Church, Sedalia, Mo., with Elder Tim Whitmore officiating. Burial was in Union-Williams Cemetery.


    Lawrence Sharp, 74

    Lawrence Leslie Sharp, age 74, of Sunray, died Monday, May 28, 2012. He was a native of Henry County. He was the son of the late Henry and Ruby Holmes Sharp.

    He is survived by his wife, Vickie Sharp Dempster, Sunray; one daughter, Teresa Nanez, Sunray; two sons, Scott Sharp, Sunray, and Mark Sharp, Oklahoma City, Okla.

    A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Bible Baptist Church in Sunray. Rev. Seth Seale officiated.
