    Because technology is now such an integral resource used in every classroom, Henry County Public Schools teachers embrace the opportunity to learn all they can about technology tools that can enhance the learning experience for their students. But some teachers take it a step further and choose to share their knowledge of proven resources with other educators.

  • Local students added to Transylvania, Campbellsville’s Dean’s lists

    Transylvania University Winter 2019 Dean’s List

    Local students were named to the Transylvania University Dean’s List for winter 2019. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average during the term.

  • Powell to present at tech conferences

    When Dwayne Powell returned to the classroom after a short break, things had changed.

    “Everything was on Google,” Powell, a teacher at Henry County High School (HCHS), said. “Everything I did had to be submitted on Google. So, I was kind of forced to learn it.”

  • Craft scholar receives U of L fellowship

    Hard work, great grades, terrific test scores and leadership paid off for former Henry Countian Lori Porter.

    The University of Louisville (U of L) named Porter as a Brown Fellow April 30, one of only ten chosen annually, out of hundreds of applicants.

    Porter, 18, is in Morehead at Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics. The 18-year-old cried when she received word about the fellowship.

    “I was very excited,” she said, although the process was long and grueling.

  • EMS TSA shines at state technology conference

    Eminence Middle School TSA showed well at the State Technology Student Association Conference April 22 to 24. Technology Student Association is a national career and technical organization that offers competitive events related to various career pathways.

  • EMS STLP represent region at conference

    Eminence Schools traveled to Rupp Arena April 18 to represent the region at the State STLP conference in Showcase, NXT Robotics, Sumobots, and Digital Online Products.

    Eminence Middle School STLP Showcase received a Best in Group Award. Blaze Berry, Tia Finch, Yarley Hernandez and Calin Grinn showcased Google Tour Builder. This group created a 360 tour of the school Edhub to allow educators to take a virtual tour of the school’s innovative space.

  • FFA plans ag learning trip to Ecuador

    The Kentucky FFA Foundation has awarded an Ag Achiever grant to the agriculture program at Henry County High School to help offset the cost of a travel abroad experience to Ecuador.
