Leah is 9 and in the third grade.
Principal Sharon Bright said Leah is doing very well academically and has real leadership qualities. “She is such a remarkable young lady,” she said. “She’s supportive and helpful to her peers and very inquisitive.”
Favorite subject?
Math and then reading. “I like math because I’m good at it and it makes me feel better when I’m mad or sad,” she said.
The Preschool Screening is a free service offered to parents who wish to enroll their 3 or 4 year old child in Head Start or Preschool in the fall. The screening helps determine any special learning needs that a child of this age might have. Areas that will be screened include vision, hearing, motor skills, concepts and language development.
All 3- and 4-year old children who live in the HCPS distirct are eligible for the screenings, which will take place on April 21 and 22 at the Early Childhood Center at New Castle Elementary School.
Luke Satterly is 14 and in the sixth grade.
“Luke is a quiet, unassuming young man that everyone likes,” principal Steve Frommeyer said. “He always gives his best effort in everything he does.” What is your favorite sport?
Luke’s favorite outdoor sport is football. He plays wide receiver and safety at school. “I like to pass the ball (at home) with my sister or brother, too,” he said. What’s your favorite subject?
