• Clinton is best choice

Despite what Republicans and haters would like you to believe, Hillary Clinton is one of the most honest and accomplished presidential candidates in my lifetime. Despite all the lies, distortions and smear tactics used by Republicans, she is still standing strong. As for haters, I feel many of them are just misinformed and fell in the Fox News traps.

  • In support of Moffett

We are in the midst of a presidential election and all of us have been exposed to some intense political discussion over the last year. In light of that, it is refreshing to know that in Henry County you have two great candidates running for the office of 4th District Magistrate.

  • Bridge dedication

The Eminence Cemetery Board of Directors will recognize the continuing community service work of Steve Metcalfe’s students at a May 15, 2 p.m. gathering.

The cemetery board will unveil a bronze plaque for the bridge built by Metcalfe’s science, technology, engineering and math-based class at that time. The public is invited to participate.

  • Vote for Bernie

This year Bernie Sanders is giving us, the people, a once in a lifetime chance to right some very big wrongs and return our government to the people.  The truly important issues facing this country will not be solved, disputed or even debated while we have public officials taking money from lobbyist in the halls of our Capitol or while those same officials are being lavished with expensive dinners, gifts and offerings.

  • Liquor mania

It’s pretty clear now that at just about every stop in Henry County, you will be able to buy liquor. What about groceries and retail goods? I just wish we had someone to put this big of a fight for something we really need and that is grocery stores and retail stores. You always say buy local, and I say, buy what?

  • Criminals get out!

That is it! I have read enough in the public records section to make me sick.

All you dummies who want to partake in drugs, steal from us Henry Countians and abuse your family members are cordially invited to move out of Henry County and forever leave us alone. Get out!

  • Important to vote

The League of Women Voters works to engage citizens in the democratic process and wants to alert Kentucky Republicans about the Saturday, March 5, Republican Presidential Caucus.

The caucus is a new and unfamiliar process for Kentucky and we want to be sure citizens understand this will be the only opportunity for Republicans to cast their ballot for Republican presidential candidates.

  • Need more coverage

I am just curious why the Henry County Local didn’t finish the month of February with anything about Black History Month.

I thought part of a newspaper’s job is to inform and educate the public. Families should also do this.

As I go through life with my young son, I try to educate him about going through life as a biracial person. It doesn’t matter if you are black, white or whatever, you need to know about your history.

  • Caucus is Saturday

This Saturday, March 5, is the Kentucky Republican Presidential Caucus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 4-H Building at the Henry County Fairgrounds.

All registered Republican voters (as of Dec. 31, 2015), will be allowed to attend and vote for the Republican presidential candidate of their choice.

Republican voters can arrive from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., be verified, as you would at a primary election, go into the voting room, vote and leave.
