  • Cats roll over Williamstown...


    Amongst the pageantry and celebration that is homecoming there still was a game to be played.

    The Henry County Wildcats came into the homecoming game off of a tough week of games and were facing the Williamstown Demons (2-17).

  • Cats drop one to Mustangs


    In a rematch of the semi-final game of the Henry County Invitational Tournament, Henry County traveled to North Oldham to take on the Mustangs.

    In December, North beat the Wildcats by 29 points.  This time the Cats were hoping for a different outcome.

    Henry County started off working the basketball inside and out, and taking a 13-9 lead into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Mustangs came out behind some hot shooting by University of Louisville signee David Levitch. North Oldham outscored Henry 22-6 in the second period.

  • Lady Cats exorcise Lady Demons

    The Henry County Lady Cats got another strong offensive performance from Kim Barmore and Cheyenne Clark in defeating the Williamstown Lady Demons 51-43 on Jan. 15. It was the second game in a row that the Lady Cats broke the 50-point barrier.

    The Cats struggled early in the year to reach even 30 points but now have three games over 50 since their 55-41 win over Carroll County on Dec. 28.

  • Cats defuse Rockets

    With 5.6 seconds left on the clock, and the score 51-50 in Shelby County’s favor, Henry County’s Derek Jeffries rebounded a missed Shelby County shot and started down the floor.

    He was heading for a last-second desperation shot, but head coach Enoch Welch called a timeout as the senior approached half-court.

    The Cats set up a sideline out-of-bounds play that led to a 52-51 Wildcat victory.

  • EHS girls slay Wyverns

    The Warriors played the St. Francis Wyverns on Jan. 15 and came out on top 37-20. The Warriors used a 12-2 second quarter to open up the lead and cruised in the second half to the 17-point win despite serious foul trouble throughout the game.

    Sherry Brees led the Warriors in scoring with 14 points and Savannah Mertz added 11 points.

  • Warriors fall to Owen in All A

    When the Eminence Warriors first met the Owen County Rebels this season, Eminence pulled off a big upset.

    The Warriors surely were hoping for another upset Friday night as they paired up against the Rebels again in the semifinals of the 8th region All A Classic tournament. But it was not to be.
