  • Wildcats lose to Trimble,...

    The Henry County Wildcats travelled to Bedford Feb. 13 to take on the Trimble County Raiders for the third time this season. The Wildcats had won the previous two meetings between the teams but the third time was the charm for the Raiders as they defended their home court with a 51-44 victory.

  • EHS comes back to win vs. Lady...

    The Eminence Warriors hosted Henry County in round two of the local rivalry Friday night and got revenge for their earlier loss to the Lady Cats with a 14-point victory.

    Ella White’s 3-pointer gave Henry County a 3-2 lead after Lexi Tillett opened the scoring with an inside basket.

    Savannah Medley scored inside to make it 5-2 before Tavi West hit a 3-pointer to tie it with 4:52 left in the opening period.

    The Henry County Wildcats fell behind the host Eminence Warriors by as much as 10 points in the first half before coming from behind to win round two of the local rivalry, 70-67, Feb. 6.

    The Wildcats got off to a good start as Zack Foree drained a 3-pointer to open the scoring in the first period. After Maurice Richardson countered with two points on a 15-foot jumper, Tyler Raisor scored on a put back to make it 5-2 with 4:24 left in the opening period.

  • Warriors top Aces, 71-62

    The Eminence Warriors traveled to Cloverport Saturday to take on the Frederick Fraize Aces and came back from a 10-point first half deficit to get their 14th victory of the season.

    The Warriors led 23-20 after a fast-paced first period but Fraize outscored Eminence 27-14 in the second period to lead 47-37 at halftime.

  • Lady Cats defeat Washington

    The Henry County Lady Cats won a game of big runs over the Washington County Lady Commanders Saturday.

    The Lady Cats started the game with a 3-pointer from Katheirne Buckler that ignited a game-opening 9-1 run.

    Washington County pulled to within three points at 9-6 with 1:08 left in the opening period before the Lady Cats pulled out to a 13-8 lead after a put back by Savannah Medley to end the first period.

    The Henry County Wildcats celebrated homecoming with a comeback win over Washington County Saturday night in front of a large crowd of supporters. 

    The Wildcats started slowly on the offensive end and found themselves falling into a deep hole.

    Trailing 8-6 with 4:38 left in the first quarter, Washington County went on an 11-0 run to lead 17-8 over the next two minutes and 19 seconds.

  • Warriors slay Wyverns

    The Eminence Warriors hosted the St. Francis Wyverns Jan. 31 and came from behind for a 76-69 victory.

    After the Wyverns scored the opening basket, the Warriors took a 4-2 lead on baskets by Dre Wright and Dakadrian Saunders.

    The lead seesawed back and forth until the Wyverns scored six straight points to take a 13-10 lead with 2:25 left in the opening period.

    Leading 15-14 with 1:27 left in the period, St. Francis scored the final two baskets to lead 19-14 going into the second period.

  • EHS drop three games

    The EHS Warriors girls’ team traveled to Gallatin County Jan. 31 to take on the Lady Wildcats and fell 61-47.

    “We got off to a decent start,” EHS Coach Jerry Skeeter said. “We were only down 12-10 at the end of the first period.”

    But the Warriors went cold on offense during the second period and were outscored 11-5 by Gallatin County to trail at halftime 23-15.

    Round one of the female version of the local rivalry came late this year due inclement weather as the Henry County Lady Cats hosted the Eminence Warriors Jan. 30. The Lady Cats had to mount a comeback to take round one  and get their second distict win of the season.

    It was all Eminence in the early going as they pulled out to a 10-2 lead. Lexi Tillett, Emilie Ethington, Kenya Vargas and Tavi West all scored in the opening run for the Warriors.

  • Warriors topple Owen, lose to...

    The Eminence Warriors hosted the Owen County Rebels in an important district seeding game Jan. 23 and used a strong third quarter showing to power their way to their third consecutive district win.

    Eminence took a 5-3 lead on a 3-pointer by Braedin Hinkley with 5:48 to go in the first period. 

    After an Owen County put back, Josh Dotson drained another 3-pointer for the warriors to make it 8-5, Dre Wright followed that with an inside basket to make it a five-point lead with 3:37 left in the opening period.
