Orville Baptist on Gest Road in Pleasureville is inviting families to their Bible teaching church family, Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., with respect to social distancing and masks encouraged. For more information, find them on Facebook.
Campbellsburg Baptist Church continues their Summer Concert Series with Exploring Hymns Organ Concert on July 17 and Adoration, a local gospel music quartet, on August 14. All concerts begin at 6 pm.
The Presbyterian Church of Eminence will reopen its Clothes Closet for one day on June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Clothes Closet will open every other Sat. after June 25 during those hours.
Civic Organizations
Oddfellows Lodge #1513 in New Castle will hold their Annual Homecoming Picnic at the Henry County Fairgrounds on Aug. 20.
Oddfellows Lodge #1513 meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Saturday of each month followed by the NABVets at 1 p.m.
Eminence Rotary Club meets at noon at Hope Center at noon every Monday.
The New Castle Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday at Hometown Pizza.
Pleasureville Masonic Lodge No. 410 meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at Lodge Hall, 105 Main St., Pleasureville.
Pleasureville Economic Development Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
Friends of the Henry County Public Library meets the first Thursday of each month at 3 p.m. at the library. The Friends support and assist the library through fundraising and volunteering. For more information, email libraryfrnds@gmail.com.
Community Events/Community Service
Healthy Living with Diabetes. North Central District Health Department offers diabetes education classes. Call Maranda Burgin RN at (502) 633-1231, ext. 256 or go online at NCDHD.com to register and be notified when the next class begins. The free diabetes support group is open to all and led by a Nurse Diabetes Educator from North Central District Health Department in partnership with the Shelby County Extension Office. Each meeting focuses on a different diabetes topic with the opportunity to learn, share, get questions answered and receive small giveaways.
The Dare to Care Mobile Food Pantry food distribution will be open from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Henry County Fairgrounds.
Tri-County Community Action COMPASS Substance Abuse Resource Program provides services to parents whose students are potentially using substances. Parents can schedule a screening. To find out about all the COMPASS services or schedule an appointment call Joan or Michelle at 845-7808.

The Henry County Board of Education meets 6 p.m. on the third Monday of every month.
Eminence Independent Schools — 5:30 p.m. the third or fourth Tuesday of every month at the board office or EdHub.
Henry County High School graduate classes of 1987/88 will be having a class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 10. The reunion will be hosted by Guy and Lisa Prewitt at their home in New Castle. Campbellsburg City Council — 7 p.m., third Monday of each month at city hall.
Eminence City Council — 6 p.m., second Monday of each month at Eminence City Hall.
Henry County Fiscal Court — 6 p.m., third Tuesday of each month, normally at the 4-H building at the Henry County Fairgrounds, but the July 19 meeting will be held in the District Court courtroom at the Henry County Courthouse in New Castle due to the county fair.
New Castle City Commission — 6 p.m., first Monday of each month at Locker Room.
Pleasureville City Commission — 7 p.m., first Monday of each month at city hall.
Smithfield City Commission meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Smithfield Baptist Church.
Political Groups
The Henry County Republican Party meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the 4881 N. Main Street, Eminence, Ky.
The Henry County Democratic Party will meet the last Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Support Groups
Grief Share is a support group for people dealing with grief. Every Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eminence Christian Church, located at 5333 Main Street in Eminence, Ky. Tri-County Community Action Compass Substance Abuse Resource Program provides services to individuals in the community seeking treatment, support groups, counseling, inpatient or outpatient services, and Casey's Law petitions. The Hope Community Center at 864 Elm Street in Eminence holds the following support meetings: AA meets Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday weekly at 7pm. NA meets Thursday at 7pm. Camberwell Grief Sanctuary (Grief Support) meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm. You must text GROUP to 91999 to join. Create Hope LGBTQ+ meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m.
Open meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in the county: 11 a.m., Monday, New Castle Christian Church; 7 p.m. Tuesday, Eminence Methodist (Help Center); 8 p.m. Wednesday Campbellsburg Methodist Church; and 7 p.m., Saturday, Pleasureville Methodist Church.
A new Direction in Life, a Christian support group for alcohol drug or other addictions, will meet from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, at First Baptist Church.
