Smithfield — Jim Cox, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away March 21, 2024. Born Oct. 14, 1950, Jim was a proud Navy veteran, member of Southeast Christian Church in La Grange, a Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan and an avid outdoorsman. Though he has left this world, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Orville and Della Cox, and two siblings.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 51 years; Janice Cox, children; Lori Tharp (David), Erin Cox and James Ryan Cox (Lisa), grandchildren; Ethan and Noah Tharp, eight siblings and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Jim’s life was held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in La Grange.
