Marvin Long. 95

Eminence — Marvin Long of Eminence passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Son of the late Edward Ned and Hallie Mae (Kelley) Long, Marvin was a truck driver from age 14, and the owner and operator of Long Transport. He was a charter member and board member of the Eminence United Pentecostal Church, now Restoration Life Church. Marvin’s greatest joy was serving God, loving his family and maintaining his beautiful garden. He loved to play guitar and entertain his grandchildren. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife; Pauline Long, a son; Ronald Lee Long, and all his siblings.

Marvin is survived by his daughters: Marie Long Breeden (Tom) of Smithfield, Marline Long of Shelbyville, Mary Ann Bates (Scott) of Eminence and Elizabeth Boggs (Sean) of Lexington, a daughter-in-law; Barbara Long of Pleasureville, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Friday, April 5, 2024 at Restoration Life Church in Eminence, officiated by Pastor Michael Luttrell and assisted by Bro. Bill Hedges, with interment in Eminence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Restoration Life Church Building Fund.

Active Pallbearers were Keith Perry, Jonathan Bates, Brandon Bates, Robby LaFollette, Jacob Long and Michael Long. Honorary Pallbearers were Garold Hyatt, Barney Bates, Paul Parrish, Virgil Parrish and Bill Hedges.
